Data Plane
The data plane extends the gateway's governed connectivity and data-plane capabilities. It is not a separate customer-facing navigation hierarchy; users encounter its behavior through Connectivity, Data, Modernization, and Operations & Security.
Responsibilities
The data plane contributes to:
- Request and data-plane routing
- Mirroring and comparison
- Protocol-aware execution paths
- Additional gateway and interlay capability
- Controlled traffic changes
- Runtime evidence for routed work
The data plane operates inside the gateway's organization, identity, endpoint, credential, policy, and telemetry boundaries. Enabling a data-plane capability does not grant new access by itself.
